I was one of the suckers that bought an iPhone within the first week or so that they came out. It really wasn't a bad purchase if I already hadn't had the latest iPod, a work cell and a PSP. However I thought as long as someone hacks this thing soon we will be alright. Within a few days people hacked the iPhone and since then quite a bit of apps have been released for the iPhone. Monday a company started selling an unlock solution and now what do you know, 2 days later a free version has been released. Read more about it at iphonehacks.com they will do it more justice than I am. Since I am stuck in Singapore I will finally be able to use my iPhone now! Write Comment (0 comments) |

You ever wanted to go to Peter Luger's Steakhouse in Brooklyn but absolutely hated to go to Brooklyn, I mean come 'on there is no acceptable reason to go to Brooklyn accept maybe to score some crack anyway right? Well now you don't have to, you can stay in the city and essentially have a Peter Luger steak at Ben and Jack's. It is a restaurant assembled of mostly ex-Luger partners, chefs and even the bartender! Hell they even have the Thick Canadian Bacon appetizer which is one of the great things at Luger's. It is located on 219 E. 44th Street in NY. Personally I think Spark's has a better Filet and the most awesome winelist but this was definately a good dry-aged steak and some excellent appetizers. On a way less grand scale there is Portobello's Pizza and Cicilian Kitchen in Tribeca. It is my favorite pizza joint in the city. A lot of people say there is better pizza in the city but I really dig it there and I like the owner, he's pretty much a loud mouth, always yelling at people to hurry up down the line. They have good pasta and better pizza. It is about 2 blocks north of the WTC site (walk up from 7 WTC and you will hit it) at 83 Murray Street. They have a website that is located here at portobello-tribeca.com. For some reason my Mambo isn't quite working well with Firefox so I can't embed a URL. |

"You can feel free to relive this hour, or use our express check out system." That was one of the best lines I've heard in a movie in ages. If you know whats going on before and after in this movie you would know why it is so perfect. The movie I'm referring to is 1408 with John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson. It is based on a short story by Steven King. You probably already know that so I will spare you all the other BS. The movie is absolutely great, John Cusack is one of my best actors and kills in this movie. I would love to tell you all the juicy tidbits of what to expect from the movie but really I can't as it would give away a lot of surprises. Interestingly enough, in the age of giving the whole movie away in the trailers, they haven't done so with this one. I strongly recomend watching this movie if you like a good thriller. It is not going to scare you most likely but they do a great job of continuously building tension throughout the entire story. Everytime they let some of that tension release they replace it with another form of tension. Frustrating but great. Good cinematography and great acting also. There were at least two scenes that left me with goosebumps, watch the movie! |
