You ever wanted to go to Peter Luger's Steakhouse in Brooklyn but absolutely hated to go to Brooklyn, I mean come 'on there is no acceptable reason to go to Brooklyn accept maybe to score some crack anyway right?

Well now you don't have to, you can stay in the city and essentially have a Peter Luger steak at Ben and Jack's. It is a restaurant assembled of mostly ex-Luger partners, chefs and even the bartender! Hell they even have the Thick Canadian Bacon appetizer which is one of the great things at Luger's. It is located on 219 E. 44th Street in NY. Personally I think Spark's has a better Filet and the most awesome winelist but this was definately a good dry-aged steak and some excellent appetizers.

On a way less grand scale there is Portobello's Pizza and Cicilian Kitchen in Tribeca. It is my favorite pizza joint in the city. A lot of people say there is better pizza in the city but I really dig it there and I like the owner, he's pretty much a loud mouth, always yelling at people to hurry up down the line. They have good pasta and better pizza. It is about 2 blocks north of the WTC site (walk up from 7 WTC and you will hit it) at 83 Murray Street. They have a website that is located here at portobello-tribeca.com. For some reason my Mambo isn't quite working well with Firefox so I can't embed a URL.
