Public Enemy recently released Rebirth of a Nation featuring Paris. The short summary is that every song in this album kicks ass. Everyone has heard of Public Enemy but I don't think many people have heard of Paris which is to bad. Paris is a militant black rapper who runs Guerilla Funk records. The closest thing Paris has had to a hit would probably be "The Devil Made me Do it" but it hasn't stopped him from having a huge underground following. He started Guerilla Funk after he got dropped from his last label for being to political. In fact he is angry, militant, and anti-white. He has long been one of my favorite rappers even though I don't agree with his politics and well..... I'm white. This album is rich with Paris influence which has always had very up-tempo melodic beats. I think the only exception to that would be "They Call Me Flavor", if you need explanation on what that song or who stands out on then I probably don't want you even reading this site. This is a solid album in which I would recommend to anyone into rap. If you liked last years PE release New Whirl Odor which I thought was solid or are fans of classic PE like It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back or Fear of a Black Planet you should enjoy this. While this album doesnt have the same style as Fear it is just as in your face as early PE. Buy it.
