Well I got stuck in another craphole, this time it was Milwaukee, WI which is one of the deadest large towns I have ever been in. Actually, I think the whole state must close up at about 9:30PM. However, it seems like on every trip (the exception being every trip to Mississippi) I go on I usually find one great restaurant and in this state the restaurant was called the Calderone Club which is on 842 N Old World 3rd St in downtown Milwaukee. We had originally tried to go to Benihana which is a consistent favourite no matter which city I am in. You will nearly always get a good meal at a Benihana but just like everything else in this city they were closed by 9:30. Surprisingly Calderone Club, which is also a bar, was still opened although it looked like the restaurant portion was about closed. Their wine menu was a little week so we purchased some local Milwaukee beer and went over the menu. It took some questions to decide but I asked the guy if I could order off the menu. What I ordered was as follows and I highly reccomend it. The house della casa sauce, it is a marinara with a red wine reduction and some added garlic and spices. It has a great consistency. Followed by their homemade Linguine with some Prawns. The final touch is a little added buffalo mozarella which melts in your mouth. After ordering the guy I was on the trip with decided to go with the same exact thing, it is all he really talked about the next few days it was that good. To sum it up in two words, go there!
