I took my 'wonderful' Audi S4 in again to try and get serviced for my starting problem which is happening every day sometimes twice a day. For those of you who didn't read the first posting about it I have a 2004 Audi S4 that decides to not start when the engine is cold. I have taken it into the shop 5 times now and the problem isn't fixed, in fact they haven't even started working on it because they say they cannot reproduce the problem.

So I took the car in again and left it for nearly a week in which they said that it hadn't happened at all so I decided one night to surprise them and show up as I didn't believe them that it could actually be starting every single time. Well I showed up, it was cold but the car started right up with no delays. Isn't that a bitch.I wasn't satisfied so I left the car and showed up again on Monday and the car started.

This is when I noticed something that should show that I'm grasping at straws but everytime it has been left at the dealers it has been at a slight to not so slight decline. Everytime it is parked at home or even at work it has been at a slight to serious incline.

Over the last week or so I have done some testing, backing the car into the driveway and parking it at work at a declining angle. Everytime I have done this it seems to either start up right away or it has started up within a minute.

On the other hand I have also tried parking it at an incline and the same old usual behavior happens. It takes 10-30 minutes to start. It is interesting that the angle of the car could have any effect on how the car starts but I have a theory.

In the codes that I have found on the car and that the dealership FINALLY said they found it says something about the immobilizer having intermittent communication problems. The dealership says that it can't possibly be the problem because the Immobilizer apparently controls the fuel injector and the car should at least start and then die. However I found out that the car also bleeds the engine of any fuel when it is shut off. It sort of explains the quick click like it is trying to start. There is also a sound of something shorting out in the engine compartment around where both the fuel injectors and the ECU module would be.

I plan to take it back to the dealers place next week and hopefully I will make progress as this has gone on to long. The next step would be to have a lemon law lawyer contact them.
