--- UPDATE --- I wrote a separate update about my problem but this particular article still gets a lot of hits, this problem has been fixed fairly recently check out the update articles to see what transpired. As many of you know I have an 2004 Audi S4. It is an extremely nice and powerful German automobile. I love it, for the most part. Audi RS4
Several months back it had difficulty starting in the morning. I thought nothing much of it as it was just once however it happened again and again. Every so often when it was cold outside. The engine would not even turn over it really didn't do anything at all.
I immediately took it to the dealer . This is where I normally take my car for work, I also needed my normal maintenance done. When I got it back the first time they said they were not able to reproduce the problem. I didn't really have any problem with that as it only seemed to happen during the cold days.
As the months went on the problem started happening more and more frequently, of course it was getting colder and colder so I took the car back to Michael's and left it there for a full week. They still said that they could not reproduce the problem.
A few more weeks went by and the problem was happening every day now, it made me miss a flight or two and sometimes took up to an hour to start!!!! I even documented the problem on video, until I ran out of video. I was traveling a lot so I took my car back for another week amd when I got back I was told again for the 3rd time that they were unable to reproduce the problems. Now I'm pissed off and I have to think that they are lying!
I have continued to document the problem on video, other people have witnessed it but Michael Audi still refuses to do anything about the problem. I have searched around on AudiWorld's forums and a few other people have had similar problems, the problem is that the starter cylenoid is failing to engage and that is the reason why it doesnt even bother to turn over. I have, of course, told this to Michael Automotive and they are reluctant to do anything probably because the starter is in the very back of the engine.
What do you think my next steps should be? I think I've been extremely patient but now I think it's time to get nasty!
