I absolutely despise MySpace, not because it is the latest craze with your average 12 year old girl and 40 year old pedophile but because it's a very ugly interface. I think the way it is setup is very non-functional however thousands and thousands of people can't be wrong I guess.
The first nifty use of MySpace that I had seen was at the tail end of a Nip/Tuck episode. They showed a 10 second clip of a reoccuring slasher/murderer named The Carver and that he was fed up and needed to take it to a new level, at the bottom of the screen was a link to his myspace URL.
It was a nice blend of old media meeting new media. The people at FX have even gone so far as to produce video clips on the MySpace site and have new blog entries drawn up explaining the background behind himself and leading to speculation about who The Carver may really be. The whole myspace.com site is ugly as sin like usual but they get an A for effort as it has massive reach.
For those of you like Richard who don't watch TV at all FX over the last several years has grown from basically playing re-run Fox movies to producing some of the edgiest and best written shows around. Intense character driven dramas and even comedies that blow everything else away. Back to the topic, if you'r a fan of the show I suggest checking out The Carver's website if you haven't already done so.
