The wholesome goodness of a custom made ... insert material object here ...

Ok we are playing sniglets. Insert a material object there, it will fit. I just got back from L.A. where I was at Barney's to pick up a suit that just got finished and it turned out Gianni Battistoni was there doing custom fittings.

It's really hard to explain to someone until they see and feel a custom made shirt, suit, pair of shoes. As soon as you have had one of those things your whole perspective of mass made anything turns around and you can no longer stand it. Its especially different when you have the owner of the company and the chief designer doing the measurements and talking to you about how they feel about the design of the suit. Needless to say I ended up ordering some custom shirts and a sports jacket. I just ended up buying 2 suits a few months ago I couldn't justify another suit.

I think that if you ever get a chance to have something custom made, whatever it is, DO IT. It really doesn't matter what it is because generally if you have something custom made it will be to your specifications and be absolutely what you want.

As I re-edit this post I just remembered there is also a downside to this actually two of them, the first and most obvious is that it is usually very costly however generally speaking a well made suit, shoes, whatever will last at least 10x longer than anything else. The second thing is something that I already mentioned that once you experience some of the finer things in life you are no longer satisfied with whats considered the mainstreams status quo. I've been lucky and all my life I've had things that were custom made, but other things I hadn't obtained until maybe the last 5 years, life was much more simple back then. It also becomes an endless cycle of outdoing the last item.
